About Aches Away

Our goal at Aches Away is to make massage affordable for the people who need it most. Massage has been seen in the past as a luxury, only available to the rich and famous. But, how many rich and famous people are really out there? And do they really have the stresses and pains that we have? The Aches Away Philosophy is that we can change the world one massage at a time. If you get a massage that you can afford and it helps you to not have the pain that you had earlier, you will go home and treat your family better, they, in turn, treat the people they encounter better, and positive interactions continue—just because 1 massage has made 1 person feel better. Imagine the consequences of 5 massages a day?

Aches Away Massage Therapy Therapists are well trained professionals with a desire to heal. We love what we do, and after 20+ years of experience, we’ve learned that The more we care, the better you feel. As for making money—that comes eventually, but we are more concerned with helping each person that we encounter. We use our many available talents, skills, and abilities and put them to work for you.

A Message From Emma: For almost 12 years, massage has been the broth in my stew of professional life. Even before my certification, I touched hundreds of people in college and in high school - hundreds of people experiencing stress. When it comes right down to it, we are all in a constant struggle against the stresses of life. Stress is the cause of more that 60% - 90% of all disease - and that is a very conservative figure! When I went off to massage school, my Aunt Linda, I love her dearly, told me that I could do much better -, that I was "too smart to just spend my time and talents learning to rub people's butts". I went off and did it anyway, despite the reactions of those around me. I learned the science behind my passion and talent. I learned the techniques necessary to accomplish more than just "rubbing people's butts". And I learned a lot about me. Touch is such a primitive and basic need for all people - even those who dislike being touched. There have been studies that were done in a lab with monkeys and Clothes hangers. One clothes hanger was uncovered and placed next to the food for these young monkeys. Another clothes hanger was placed in a corner by itself, covered by a blanket. The monkeys would go to the food a few times a day, but they spent the rest of the time cuddled up to the blanket covered clothes hanger as it represented to them, a mother's touch. Studies in Hospitals with preemies also show, that the babies who are held and caressed not only survive better than their counterparts - they Thrive! So, Touch is important. In our touch starved society, where stress is a constant, can you not see a direct relationship with the need for massage? As for those who dislike touch - I was one of them. No, I was not Autistic, or traumatized, but, I did have a strong dislike for people entering my personal space. I recognized it, and I dealt with it. I still don't like a mild massage - I like a Deep Tissue massage or energy work, so there are many therapists and many styles of massage to choose from. The importance is in doing it.

Testimonials

EMMA: Thanks very much for coming far out of your way to visit us yesterday. It was a pleasure meeting you and your service was what was expected and received, except.......for my wife. We did not expect that you would have such a lasting effect on her by virtually eliminating all of her pain in the sciatic nerve and heel. Last night, thanks to you, was the first night in a week that she has slept through the night and we owe it to you. Thanks again!
